our drive to florida

so its matts spring break and i have vacation time (off for a total of 15 days! gotta love the 3 12 hour shifts a week!), so we decided to come to florida to visit my sister, bro in law, nephew, and mom! matt was supposed to work wed-sunday due to the missouri valley conference basketball tourney going on in STL. that is until brandon (bro in law) called and told him they had an open spot for the golf tourney on monday....hey boss, can i have sunday off? sure! so now we are leaving sat after matt gets off work in the evening...
brody, my nephew, turns 4 on 3/13, but his party was sat afternoon, and we were going to miss it due to matt having to work, and i was ok with that, we will be down there sunday and we get to stay for a week! miss it until matt came home thursday night and asked me how cool he would be if he got off sat as well, so we could be in FL for brodys bday party....you would be sooooo cool!
so, off work sat he is! now we are leaving to drive to fl friday night when matt gets home. our 12 hour drive, good quality matt and jenn time!!!! so we get on the road at 12:30, that puts us in FL at 1:30 (time change) their time, just in time to shower and rest for a minute before the 4:00 party......or so we thought!
i have the first leg of the drive, and matt is going to sleep....
so i am driving along....no worries, about an hour into it, i start seeing snow on the grassy areas, thats cool, its on the grass...NOT ON THE ROAD!...
driving along, and the snow starts creeping up onto the left lane...thats cool, still not on MY SIDE of the road.....
driving along...wait a minute, now the snow is starting to creep up onto MY lane.....
driving along, whoa, now it is completely covering the left lane of the highway and i only have two tire tracks to follow in the right lane...
driving along...ahhh, my lane left me! no more clear tire tracks...down to 40MPH i go, and now i am the leader of the pack...a very long, single line of cars on the highway, going 40mph, praying to STAY on the highway. the leader of the pack? do these fools even know who they put in charge
driving along...hey, i have tire tracks again...ok, breathe and loosen up on the steering wheel....
driving along....AAAHHHHHHHH, my tire tracks are gone again...shit!
driving along and now the tire tracks are back again. ok, if they leave me one more time i am waking up matt
GONE, for good now.....tap, tap, tap on matts leg...honey, my road disappeared...i need you to drive!
so matt gets into the drivers seat (thanks honey!) and drives us through the snow. 40mph, and another very long, single line of cars...for hours!!
our 12 hour drive turned into a 14 1/2 hour drive! good quality matt and jenn time!!!!
we got to tallahassee at 4PM, just in time for the bday party to start!
