anyway...i did nothing with the bulbs. sat them in my laundry room and kind of forgot about them. then i noticed a month or two ago, that they started to sprout in their BAGS!
ut oh, better throw them in the ground! and thats exactly what i did...and they actually bloomed!
i cut 6 tulips and 2 daffodils today and brought them in for a beautiful spring bouquet!!!
gotta love the clearance $0.25 bag-o-bulbs!:-)
and my lilac bush is in full bloom too.....mmmm, cant you just smell it!
in 2004, i had matt dig a hole for my new little bush....he grumbled the whole time.
apparently, we planted the arbor day trees in this spot. years ago, the junior high school gave out these "sticks" to all the students, they grew some, but i think we ended up cutting them down a few years after cause they were right on the fence (we didnt actually think the "sticks" would grow!).
well, the trees are gone, but i guess the roots are not?!?!!? and thats right where i want my lovely matt to dig a big hole so i could plant my baby lilac bush.... cant you hear the grumbles!
but he did dig my hole, and look at it now! growing up all big and strong with TONS of beautiful, fragrant purple flowers!

Oh my goodness. Gotta love those bargains... and the neglectful way seems to be the way to go... hehe.
