it was YUMMY! and we stuffed ourselves silly!
we get home, and i walk from the living room to the kitchen in hot pursuit of that asti bottle in the fridge...
SQUISH
what was that?
i take a step backwards.....
SQUISH...
by now, matt is laying on the couch, looking at me puzzled, what are you doing?
uuuhhhhh.... it sounds like this flooring is wet? we may have a problem. (this is where i remind you all that matt laid a new lock in place floor in our dining room and kitchen last year, OVER the nasty old linoleum)
matt comes over and steps on the kitchen floor...
SQUISH
then he stomps on it and up from the edge of the flooring splashed some water....
SH*T!
where is the water coming from? not the washer (i had done laundry), its not wet out there. lets try the kitchen sink...i turn it on and nothing....for a second, then....
WATER!
rushing out of the bottom of our garbage disposal! it was coming out of two places and it looked almost as if two screws had disappeared and the water was coming through the empty holes! who knows why its leaking, we just know that it is leaking.
now sh*t, our sink is on the total opposite wall than where i had originally heard the SQUISH.
so this means we spent the next 2 hours pulling UP the beautiful floor matt had so painstakingly laid last year!
the water was under the ENTIRE kitchen floor, thank goodness it stopped at the entrance to the dining room...no water in there!
14 rows total of the flooring had to come up, the stove pulled out, the fridge pulled out and is in the dinning room, the wet/dry vac in full swing! and boy am i glad i have saved all those old towels over the years, to sop up the water on the floor and to wipe down all the flooring we were pulling up!
so to home depot we went this morning to buy a new garbage disposal and the pluming connectors so we can fix that. then let the floor dry and lay it all back down...but that will happen next week d/t work, school, and a weekend trip to chicago!
so for now, i get to live in this disorganized mess of a kitchen/dinning room.....i will try not to let it make me GO NUTS!

LOL what a great way to spend your anniversary - at least you got to go out to dinner and found the squish AFTER you stuffed yourselves.. right :)
