june 13-17

i have been such a blog slacker lately.....i havent blogged in about 2 weeks...and boy have those 2 weeks been busy! i have lots of catching up to do....

6/17...first, last night, matt and i went here.....

TO SEE DAVE! i absolutely love the dave matthews band...matt, happily goes along with me to be my date! hes not into dave like i am...but i did see him standing most of the show with me and dancing to the music! we had a blast!

we sat in the lawn...thank goodness it didnt rain!...although we did have a pretty spectacular lightening show and it did sprinkle a little...here we are with one of the jumbo trons behind us...

6/16...tuesday night we went to the cardinals game! i had 4 tickets so our friends keith and carrie joined us. we always have such a good time with them....matt and keith worked together for about 12 years...so when they get together, its like 2 kids...playing, joking, laughing! we tried and tried to take a group pic...but they kept turning out like this.....
matt up close and personal...and us 3 in the background and in the dark! after about 5 attempts, a nice usher lady came and offered to take out pic....FINALLY! success! it was a great game! the cardinals were playing the detroit tigers and we won 11-2!

(just a quick story, when my grandparents were alive, they all lived in michigan. while growing up, we would spend our summers in michigan. my maternal grandma loved the tigers. every night my grandma would have the game playing on her little radio in the kitchen...back then they didnt have interleague play, and i used to tell her, wouldnt it be cool if the cardinal and tigers would make it to the world series so they could play each other, which was a stretch since the tigers were so bad back then....we always would disagree on who would win the game! it was fun to talk about. she passed away in 1992....and in 1997 the first interleague game was played! the first time the tigers came to busch stadium to play the cardinals, i went to the game....and thought of my grandma the entire time, im sure she was there with me! since then, every time they come back, i try to catch a game....it makes me smile and think of my grandma! and in 2006.....the cardinals and the tigers were in the world series! and i was right, the cardinals DID win!)

6/13....saturday matt worked day shift (at THE 5TH QUARTER in collinsville). there was a songwriters music festival going on downtown collinsville...so i decided to go have dinner at the bar....and hope matt would get off at a decent hour so we could enjoy some music....it didnt really turn out that way. they were so busy that matt had to work until about 1030, so i hung out listening to all the music, while matt worked is butt off! (oh, well, at least i had a good time and matt made some good $$). our good friends, christy and micheal, decided to meet us at the bar and have a few adult beverages with us. it was good to see them...they are always so much fun! and we dont get to hang out with them nearly as much as i would like.

that catches you up on this past week....stay tuned for more updates.....june 5-9th we made a quick trip to florida! it was our nieces (bryn) 1st birthday! i have lots of pictures and blogging to do about that trip! and im not sure when i am going to find time...my sister (and family) is coming into town to visit us sunday night and staying for a few days! and i work every night until then (thurs, fri, sat and sun)...so i also need to find time to do laundry, wash all spare bedroom sheet, and get this house visitor ready....it just makes me tired THINKING about it all!
