4th of july weekend

i hope everyone had a safe and fun filled holiday weekend! we sure did!
this was the first 4th of july in years that we were both off and able to spend the entire weekend enjoying the festivities!
friday night we were able to catch a gateway grizzlies game with matts bff frank and his family. it was a great game! and we could see the fair st. louis fireworks off in the distance!
after the game, we went to another friends house (doug and brandi) and hung out with a group of friends there. they had bought a butt ton of fireworks, so we had our own little mini display! on the way from the baseball game to doug and brandis, we passed a road block of state cops. this was the first time i had actually seen a road block in real life.... how exciting! but probably not so much for the people actually having to stop for the road block!



saturday, my bff, heather, had a birthday party for her youngest, sophia. her birthday is at the end of the month, but she decided since she was having a bbq and everyone over....she would have sophias 4th birthday party too. boy, was that fun! they had a blow up water slide up that the kids couldnt get enough of! yummy food, cupcakes and even a pinata!
matt and i left the party to head down to the st louis river front so we could see the fair st louis fireworks....and hear them too!(we could see them in the distance at the grizzlie game...but couldnt hear them). we decided to go to the casino queen which is right across the river from the arch rather than try to get down on the actually arch grounds with the masses of people...we got down to the casino queen parking lot, pulled out our lawn chairs and had a front row seat for the awesome fireworks display! i love fireworks! 4th of july is my favorite summer holiday! after the fireworks, it was a mad house trying to get out of the parking lot, so we decided to go into the casino to use the bathroom...and we ended up playing some video poker! i really have no clue what i am doing when i play, but i had fun trying! matt put 20$ in his machine and 20$ in my machine....we played for a while on that 40$! when we left....matts machine said "zero", he had lost it all....but i cashed out at 30$!!!!! so i won 10$! what fun! the girl that has no clue won some money!!! i cashed my ticket out and handed the winnings over to matt, after all, he was the one that put the money in the machines to begin with! so we left down 10$ not bad! and when we left, there was no traffic!
