my friend and co worker, deena, has a cabin a few hours from st. louis, in the middle of no where on a little man made lake....so a few of us decided to head that way for a night. we did this two years ago, and vowed to come back every year....and were able to make it back this year!me, jule, kim, christy, shelby, chris, and deena...are all great friends and hard working nurses that deserved a break!
it is just soooo peaceful, relaxing, soothing, good for the soul....
to just sit on the deck and look out over the water....
to take the kayaks out on the lake and quietly glide around...
to say hi to the little old men fishing in their john boats....
to float around on the many flotation devices deena has and enjoy the water, sun, and fresh country air....
to share an evening with your close friends AWAY from the hustle of hospital nursing...
to stay up late watching old chic flicks.....
to have the Ipod hooked up and dance on the dock until our legs hurt....
to laugh until our cheeks are sore....
to eat
to have an adult beverage....or two....
to be disconnected from the world, for a while, with GREAT friends.....
what more could you ask for?!?!?!?!
now, this is life!

That sounds like just what the doctor ordered!
I'd love to get away for the weekend with my fellow nursing friends but we can never get off at the same time. How did you guys manage to all get away together!?!
Ahh I'm glad you guys made it this year! Maybe every two years is a little more realistic with the hussle bussle.. but at least you made it. Sounds fun
