some fun stuff shes doing right now....
sleep: She sleeps well at night after about midnight! she will sleep for a long stretch from about midnight or 1...for usually 3-5 hours... She has slept through the night very few times (a 6 hour stretch). she usually wakes up to eat around 7ish, then goes back to sleep until about 10 or 11AM. she still sleeps a lot. lately, in the afternoon, her naps have only been about an hour long, then she eats and is up for about an hour, then sleeps again for a short nap, this goes on all afternoon. and getting her to sleep AND STAY ASLEEP is not an easy task....
at night she sleeps in the bassinet on top of the pack n play at the end of our bed and usually (once asleep) sleeps pretty well in there. we do have a noise machine that is set on "water fall"...it sounds more like white noise to me though!
feeding: i am still breastfeeding finley, but dont know for how much longer. hunky hubby and i were just talking about this last night. at midnight, i fed her, both sides, and she was still fussy, so i made her a bottle (formula)...after that she was still attacking her binki, so i made her another bottle (4oz total) and then she slept! it made me feel bad.
am i not producing enough? i know that making a bottle doesnt help my supply (supply and demand)...but she just seemed so hungry still
i never had decided how long i was going to breastfeed her.
in the beginning, i was just going to try it and see how it went, no pressure.
then my best friend told me that she br her children for 6 weeks...ok, i can tough it out for 6 weeks.
then it got easier, and i talked to another friend that br her children for 8 weeks...8 weeks? i can do that.
then i read a blog where they had just started their 4 month old on baby food...4 months? maybe i will breastfeed until we start her on baby food...
i go back to work at the end of april, maybe i will breastfeed until then, after all, i am at home now, and i CAN breastfeed, what else do i have to do? i have no excuses...
bottom line, i have no clue when i am going to stop, and i feel guilty for thinking about stopping.
if you breastfed, how long did you do it and how did you decide when you were going to stop?
mood: finley is happiest in the morning right after she wakes up and later at night, usually around 10ish! she smiles at me when i make funny faces and she smiles at the light in the corner of the room all the time! she gets really cranky if she is tired and wants to sleep...and it usually takes her a bit to get to sleep...while she is falling asleep she loves to be held close (i know i know) and loves to suck on her binki. she also smiles all the time in her sleep.
playtime: she is starting to make cute little baby noises! i will talk to her and she will "talk" back. we dont do tummy time near enough, she isnt a fan, but we do put her on her tummy on our chest and she will hold her head up for a little minute, then starts to bounce her nose off our chest, then will lay her head back down...she tries real hard to keep it up, and is so cute!
growth: finleys 2 month appointment is this wednesday...she will get weighed and measured then. all i know is that while i breastfeed her, her head is getting pretty heavy!!!
diapers: She is still in newborn size diapers (up to 10lbs) but lately ive noticed that they are leaving a mark on her thighs....time for size 1?!?!?!?
clothing: finley is also still wearing size newborn clothes...but last week we noticed that her little feet are trying to bust out of the bottoms of her sleepers! and the other night i looked at her, and she just.looked.long!

She is probably hungry. A two month old takes 4 - 6 oz at each feed. Just offer her a 4 oz bottle after breastfeeding.
