ginger

before my mom moved to florida....we lived together....rather, i lived with her....never moved out of her house....i went to college, got a "real" job...and just stayed living with my mom, of course helping with the house bills. i actually ended up buying the house from her when she moved to florida....

anyway...we had 2 cocker spaniels named aimee and ginger. when my mom moved, they went with her! this year they are 13 and 14 *i think* years old...

in march, my mom had to make the horribly heart wrenching decision to have ginger put to sleep. her kidneys were failing, she was starting to have seizures, and wasnt eating.

its so hard to watch a beloved pet slowly decline. ginger had been a part of our family for so long! and was such a sweet little dog. she loved playing ball, loved treats (and her pudgy belly showed that@!), and she absolutely loved giving anyone and everyone kisses!!!!

in blog land, a friend had another fellow blogger *donna* paint a picture of her dog....and i thought that would be a GREAT gift for my mom! a painting of ginger...

so i emailed donna and she agreed to paint a picture of ginger.

it turned out fantastic@ i couldnt be happier, and neither could my mom!

it was a great gift...and now gingers painting hangs in my moms entrance hallway...where she passes it every day and is reminded of ginger and her love she spread during her life.
