pumpkin patch adventure!

this past weekend we went to the pumpkin patch....
i was so excited!
i had visions of the 3 of us..... all smiles, tons of photo ops, lots of fun, and plenty of pumpkins.....
well, 3 outta 4 aint bad!

• tons of photo ops: check
• lots of fun (by me and matt): check
• plenty of pumpkins: check
• all smiles: that would be a negative! miss finley apparently didnt get the memo!

we placed her on the bails of hay that they had all lined with already picked pumpkins....and it started!

the "ummm, im not too sure of this, get me outta here" whine.....it was so cute (am i crazy?), so i just kept snapping pictures at my poor daughters expense... she was so cute, never really cried...just fussed!

so i thought, maybe she didnt like the pookie feel of the hay, lets put her up on the wagon full of pumpkins....no dice!

she was ok if, and only if, one of us were holding her....can you see the death grip (same grip on his back too!) she has on her daddy!

matt....set her there!~ maybe she wont mind them?!....
HA, who am i kidding! i think she hated them even more!

so we then strolled to the pumpkin patch...to pick out our pumpkins...and take more pictures! she didnt fuss as much, but still not a fan of being put down next to these giant orange things....

i think this is the only smile i was able to capture the entire day....
the "yea, daddy saved me and picked me up outta that stupid pumpkin patch!" smile!

we were a little disappointed with the patch itself...all the pumpkins we saw were either GigaNtic or rotten....so back to the already-picked-for-you pumpkins we went!
right after one more attempt at a picture with a pumpkin and a HaPpY SmiliNG baby........

fail!

oh well....you cant fault me for trying!!!!

this stand made matt smile!!!!
we took a break and ate some of the oh-so-healthy food...
we had an elephant ear drizzled with pumpkin and then topped with whipped cream!!!!!
yummy!

while we ate, finley decided that the hay wasnt so bad after all....once she realized she could grab HANDFULS and stuff it in her mouth!!!
finally, success! happy baby!!!

after we refueled and got our sugar high, we each picked out our pumpkin....finley had to taste test her to find the right one!

then we went to pet the goats...
the goats that didnt want anything to do with us cause we didnt pay to get some goat food to feed them.....
huummmph....fine goats, we didnt want to pet you anyway!

another attempt at a smiling baby..... at least shes not screaming!

our first trip to the pumpkin patch.....

lots of fun, photos, and pumpkins....not so many smiles......
maybe next year!~
(i hope this isnt a look into the future at photo ops with santa!!!!!)
