mothers day

i had a GREAT mothers day weekend! i sure hope you all did too!
friday afternoon, my dad got here (he was driving through from texas to michigan again)...matt had to work, so my dad, finley and i hung out all evening....more like finley entertained us! she is such a ham! saturday morning, i got up and cooked bacon and eggs for everyone, then my dad left to finish his trip north...short visit, but we made the best of the time we had!

saturday night hunky hubby grilled up some boneless pork chops that he had marinated in my favorite sauce, grilled asparagus (my absolute FAVORITE), and made some cheesy potatoes for my early mothers day dinner....then we made a trip to dairy queen for dessert!!!! yummmmm~

sunday, we headed to church early for mothers day breakfast. all the husbands/fathers of the congregation were in charge of breakfast! it was yummy! there were several different kinds of egg casseroles, several french toast casseroles, all sorts of fruit, ham, muffins.....delicious men! good job!

finley was pretty wound up after that, so we opted to sit in the "cry" room for church....well, matt and i sat, finley played with her "la la la oooooon"s. hey, they kept her happy!

after church, we went to matts parents house, changed clothes, laid finley down for her nap, and matt and i went to the cardinals game! it was a GORGEOUS day! we got some sun....and saw the cardinals win!!!!

after the game, we went back to matts parents house and had dinner. his oldest sister and her family were there too....grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, cantaloupe, honeydew, potato salad and cucumber salad...another GREAT meal! then....we all went to the ice cream store, aka: dairy haven!!!!!!! two ice cream treats in one weekend!!!! can it get any better than that!?!?!?

sunday also marked week 25 for me and tiny toth #2....

i got some great gifts from finley and hunky hubby.....
