december 7, 2011= 4months!!!

danika turned FOUR months old a few days ago!
i cant believe it! already 4 months!

she is holding her head up HIGH!
she has such good head control these days! she even enjoys her bumbo!
PS...any of the "screaming" pictures were before i fed her! she wasnt having any part of pictures, until i fed her...then she was happy!

danika is still not the best sleeper...unless she is being held! (shes no dummy!) and she fights sleep every time (boo!)...and wakes easily...so she gets a lot of half hour cat naps...
she usually goes to sleep about 9pm ish...wakes to feed around 1 ish...and 5 ish....then wakes around 8-9 ish to eat. this time she is up for 2-3 hours, then eats and naps (for 1/2 hour to several hours, depending on where she is!). i am still in the midst of operation pack and play...the most she has slept there is probably a 5-6 hour stretch.

not the best sleeper, but a pretty darn good eater! my pediatrician has always said, you usually have one or the other, NOT both.....danika is still a breast milk only baby! during the day she still eats every 2-3 hours, from one side only each feed for about 6-8 minutes. ive tried to get her to eat off both sides at one feed so maybe she would go longer between each feed, but stubborn girl with a mind of her own just simply will not do it! she is becoming more distracted during feeds too...coming off several times to look at me and smile! she even has started to hold her bottle for daddy when he is feeding her when i am at work.

at her 4 month check up, we decided to lower her prevacid to once a day! (yahoo!) and by next time, 6 months, we will take her off it completely! she has had no signs or symptoms of that nasty reflux...and i hope it stays that way!

she found her hands this month! and constantly is chewing on them! she also will grasp things...and put them in her mouth, her hand eye coordination is getting better and better! she still loves looking at the baby in the mirror!

danika weighs 13 lbs 1 oz (40%), is 25 inches (75%), and her head is 16 1/4 in (40%).

she is still in size 1 diapers and mostly wears size 3-6 month clothes with a few 3 month here and there. in comparison, at 4 months finley was 13 lbs 2 oz and 25 1/2 inches!

you "talk" a ton! and now screech with delight! the first time you saw the christmas tree...you SQUEALED! it was so dang cute! she was laying on her changing table and i was tickling her under her arms and her belly...and she actually LAUGHED!

a few things that we did this past month...

danika was baptized (she smiled and cooed the entire time!)...

we got our christmas pictures taken...and again she smiled the entire time! and was mesmerized by the flash of lights!

we went to see santa...danika didnt care one way or another about him...it was finley that screamed!

i love the expression on her face in that second picture!

danika still loves finely and will sit and watch her till the cows come home! and finley still loves "baby" too! always wanting to help with her!

everyone says they think she looks more like matt...what do you think?!?!!?

we love you so much! you are such a happy baby, and wake with a big smile for me every day! i love your rolly polly thighs! and your squeals of delight!

your big blue eyes, your bald head, your dimple on the right....

i love it when you sleep all snuggled next to me with your arm up on me!
