first...july 3, ended up running finley in to see her pediatrician...she had been teetering on the im-sick-im-not-sick wagon...running a low grade fever for a few days, not really eating well, and wanting to sit in our laps rather than play....her baby sitter called me and said that she just wasnt acting right, her eyes were glossy and she thought she was running a fever. i picked them up and was able to get her seen tuesday right before the pediatrician office closed...her temp was 100.8...and her right ear is read....EAR INFECTION! we stopped to get her antibiotics..and on the way home, she puked all over the car! FUN!
so, matt came home from work with steaks to grill and these!......
we got finley started on her antibiotics and july 4, she woke up acting completely NORMAL! and no fever...
so on with our 4th of july plans!
whoot whoot!
we went down to the mississippi river front to watch the air show that they put on every year!
we stayed on this side of the river, so we were looking at the arch! it was neat to see the airplanes flying and doing all their tricks...
even if it was 105 degrees!
finley and daddy threw a frisbee around that we happened to have in the car...finley got the biggest kick out of that dang frisbee!
i love going to the air show...
we do this every year...
and i dont get tired of it one bit!
finley liked seeing the "airplanes" too!
but quickly got bored...
thank goodness for that frisbee!
after the air show, we went back to matts parents house to nap the girls...
his family was all over there swimming...
we had bbq for dinner...
and cooled down in the air conditioning!
then, we headed back down to the river front to watch the fire works display they put on every year.
we were going to go back to the grassy area in front of the casino, directly across from the arch, but danika fell asleep on the way down there, so we decided to just park and stay with the car so we didnt have to get the baby out and wake her up.
we laid out our blanket and watched the fire works from right there....
as danika slept through her first 4th of july fire works display!
the fire works were awesome...as usual!
i just love the 4th of july for that reason!
finely loved the fire works!
she kept "oooh"ing and "aaahhhh" ing and saying "MORE!"
by the time we got out of all the traffic and home...it was almost 11PM...
way late for our kids...
but totally worth it!
hopefully this tradition of air show and fire works will continue for many many years!
i know i sure do look forward to it every year!
