it started friday night...we went to the botanical gardens in st louis. they were having their annual lantern festival!~ ive never been, but always wanted to go...boy have i been missing out!
we went with matts mom, his sister, her husband, and their two kids.
it was a fun family night!
this boat is made up of all plastic bottles, and the dragon was made up of glass plates, cups, and spoons! simply amazing!
of course the pictures just dont do these lanterns justice....
grandma gave the little kids suckers! those were the best thing of the night, in their eyes!
danika was in a great mood! giving her daddy kisses....
finley had fun being able to run free and see everything!
at 8pm, all the lanterns light up! this is the truly magical time! it was amazing!!!

the "plate" dragon even blew smoke! and turns his head!
you cant tell by these pictures, but these lanterns are HUGE! they towered over us humans!
danika learned to blow kisses! and make a "muuuuuaaaa" noise while doing it! shes was so stinking cute....
saturday morning finley and i went to tumbling...
then we met daddy and danika at grandmas for donuts,
then we went to the zoo!
finley was having fun wearing daddys hat and twirling around!
they opened a new sea lion exhibit...where there is a tunnel under the water and swimming sea lions!
it was way cool!
then we went to see the monkeys...
then a FIRST....
finley and i rode the carousel!
she was elated!!!
you should have seen her face!
she was so excited to ride the tiger!
she kept kissing me and giving me hugs!
and we had to wave to "daddy and sister" every time we went by them!
we went to church sunday morning...
this was the girls before church!
i just love this dress danika has on...
and finley had puppy sitting next to her, and she had to be covered with the blanket too!
sunday was a day of firsts...
the first time danika has shoes on (she giggled and lifted her feet up and looked at them all proud)
the first time danika had a "hair bow"...it was attached to her few sprigs on top of her head, but it sure did make her happy! she kept reaching up and touching it, i guess to make sure it was still there! then smiling!
and we had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, finley just took one bite and didnt want any more, but danika ate hers all up!
then it happened....
at some point sunday evening...
a tooth decided to start to make its way out of my sweet danikas gums...
and it has made her MISERABLE!
shes a super snotty mess, clingy, cries, and wont sleep worth a darn! she has been waking up throughout the night about every 3 hours or so...
uggg....
come on tooth...get through that gum and quit making my baby miserable!
here she is, at one point in the middle of the night, after she passed back out spread eagle on daddy...
monday we had to cancel a play date due to that tooth making my baby miserable..
but we still had fun at home!
putting "hair bows" on puppy...
and me and finley played outside in the beautiful 80 degree weather!!!
today was orientation at finleys school!
we got to go see her new class room and meet her teachers for this year.
she has a few kids in her class that she had last year, so that should be fun for her!
she made herself right at home coloring 2 pictures while we were there!
and danika had fun playing too!
school starts thursday...
cross your fingers!

Those lanterns were awesome! I wish I was there too! It does sound like you had a great weekend! The zoo is always fun,isn't it? And St.Louis has such a nice one. The girls look like they had fun! Love,Mimi
