thanksgiving recap

for Thanksgiving we went to arkansas and spent a few days with matts side of the family. i have been blesses with GREAT "in-laws". matt comes from a family of 6, his parents, 2 sisters and a brother. heres a group pic of us all....a good looking bunch if i do say so myself!

little henry is missing from the picture d/t him still being in the hospital. we all did get to go see him, and boy was that a treat. he isnt in the NICU anymore, hes in like a step down nursery, for the feeder-growers. basically, he just needs to learn to breastfeed and gain weight! he is (and has been) breathing on his own with just some supplemental oxygen delivered through a nasal cannula. he has also graduated out of his incubator and is in an open crib, regulating his own temperature! his brain bleed has cleared, and his left had is back to "normal" color and he seems to have full range of motion with that arm and can grasp as well (there was an incident with trying to place an IV in his left arm back in october, which in turn caused a clot in his arm and his entire left arm down to his finger tips had turned black and there was thought he may loose all or part of his left arm/hand/fingers). he now weighs 4 lbs 10 oz! what a chunky monkey!

it was a great few days hanging out, relaxing, and eating, eating, eating!

i am thankful for a great in-law bunch!

we also did christmas, since we all were together and wont be, d/t various schedules, at christmas. so added bonus to a great trip to arkansas!
