then hunky husband and i put up (and decorated) our christmas tree! its sooo pretty! simple....not over the top decorations and so pretty! this photo with my cell phone doesnt do it justice, but you get the idea.
we had decided to have a date night, so after putting up the tree, we got ready and drove to the wehrenberg movie theater to see a movie i have really wanted to see. now mind you, i had looked on the theaters web site at 11AM to check the times, 4PM and 950PM. we decided to go to the 950 showing (since at 4 we were still in jammies, watching football, thinking about putting up the tree!). we get there at 945, i ask for 2 tickets to this movie please, and the ticket girl says that they are no longer showing that movie.
what? it is still showing up on your web site.
she says that they have cancelled the movie d/t some projectors not working, and that they cancelled it at least 3 days ago!
well, why is it still on your web site with show times?
we havent had time to change it yet.
you havent had time, in 3 days, to update your website?
well, we may still have the movie, its just been cancelled for now d/t our projectors not working. they may bring it back, or they may have just sent it back and we will not show it anymore.
but on your web site it is still showing movie times for this movie. i looked today at 11AM.
im not sure why, would you like to speak to a manager?
YES!
so here comes the 23? year old manager....
you guys wanted to see ___movie?
yes.
well, i just looked it up and it does not list on our web site.
well, yes it did. today at 11AM when i checked your site. it said it was showing at 4pm and 950pm.
so now young girl manager pulls up the web site on her computer, turns the screen around, and shows us that is is not listed....then HH pulls up their web site on his cell phone, turns his screen towards her, and shows her that it IS still listed...
and i tell her again that i looked earlier today and it was still there, listed to play at 4 and 950. (i mean, why else would we be here, in the cold flurries, asking to see that movie? it HAD to be still listed when i looked, i knew show times, where did i get the times? i didnt pull them out of my a**)
she just looks at us and says "well, you can go see another movie".
let me remind you that is is now 10PM on a sunday night...the only movies that hadnt started yet were madagascar 2, quantum of solace, australia, and twilight.
so we decide to, i guess, go see madagascar 2, since we did get showered, dressed, and drive (out in the FLURRIES) to the theater. i mean we are here, and we were going to have a date night.... so hunky husband tells young manager that we would like tickets for madagascar, and she says, "ok, that will be 18$".
what?
it was your mistake that we are here in the first place, you are not showing a movie that was listed on your web site, claiming that it was showing. so now you cant accommodate us, you would think they would comp our tickets? maybe try to make the customer happy? or maybe an apology from YM, something like, "im sorry for the mix up, im not sure why it was still showing on the web site."
HH asks, "cant you comp those?"
she just looks at us...."no, i cant do that". no sorry, no sorry you drove here for nothing. no nothing.
ok, bye.
so we leave, disappointed that we didnt get to see the movie we wanted. disappointed that we got ready, and drove there for nothing. disappointed in how YM handled the situation, if you cant comp the tickets, fine (but i dont see why not, 9$ a ticket is a rip off!)...but an apology for the mix up would have been nice.
as we were driving home, and i was sad and disappointed, i mean, how often do i get HH to go out on a date night, to the movies, and I get to pick the movie!?!?
not often!
i remembered a blog post i had read earlier that day...to "give thanks in any situation". so....
well, we got to go for a sunday night drive, in the romantic flurries together!
and then HH says, "and i needed a shower, so some good DID come out of this!"
back to the jammies and couch we went. and we got caught up on all our taped shows from last week. so we did have a good night. but i am still bothered by YM and her lack of empathy or apologies for us!
it was flurrying, but nothing was sticking...so you can imagine my surprise this AM, when i looked outside ans saw this!.....
a dusting of snow!
im sure it will be gone in a few hours....but it made me smile!
thank you mother nature for starting my day with a smile!

It takes us atleast 20 min to get anywhere out here in CT and to the movies is not exception.
