spt and strangers....

for the month of april, lelly suggested "wouldn't it be great if we spent this month giving gifts!and before you lovingly remind me of the economic recession, let me add that no money is to be spent on these gifts! let's focus on the gift of service, the gift of a smile, the gift of a repurposed or gently used item, the gift of a kind word. you know, those gifts that would be hard to wrap in a box with a pretty bow.

tuesday, april 27: gift a total stranger"
well, i have had to cheat a little this week. i have no picture from today....
but i try, really try, to smile at people and thank them, all the time. i try to thank and smile at the person checking me out at the store, the waitress serving us, the people i pass in the hospital hallways, and even the people on the elevator...as awkward as that is because EVERYONE does their best to not make any eye contact and to stare at the numbers above the elevator doors!!!! before i was a nurse, i was a waitress, and i know how hard they work...and i also know how just a simple smile and a genuine "thank you" can brighten someones day!
everyone should try it! smile. say thank you! and spread happiness....even if you are not feeling happy...who knows, a return smile from that stranger you just smiled at, may just get you out of your funk!

heres my smile to you!....hope you had a splendid day!

Being a nurse, you gift strangers everyday. And a smiling nurse is all the better.

I too smile at people wherever I am. I think it's such a easy and pleasant gift to give.

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. You gave me a gift, thank you.

A gracious and smiling person is a gift to the whole world...and I agree with Jeanette as a nurse you definitely gift society.

Thank you.
