this month, lelly suggested "wouldn't it be great if we spent this month giving gifts! and before you lovingly remind me of the economic recession, let me add that no money is to be spent on these gifts! let's focus on the gift of service, the gift of a smile, the gift of a repurposed or gently used item, the gift of a kind word. you know, those gifts that would be hard to wrap in a box with a pretty bow.
tuesday, april 14: gift a friend"

matt bowls on a wednesday night league, and has done this FOREVER. two christmases ago, i made home made cookies for matt to take to bowling, for his team, as a christmas gift from me (i had to work and couldnt go that night) and what grown man (or anyone for that matter) wouldnt love home made cookies.
ever since then, every time i am able to go to watch, they comment on how good those cookies were and ask when are they going to get some more. well, you will get them again at christmas time! after all, i cant make cookies EVERY week! geesh....what do you guys expect from me?!?!?! so again, this christmas, i made those famous cookies....and some home made fudge!
boy was that a mistake a hit with everyone!
so again....im getting "where are those cookies", "boy, i would love a cookie"...and on and on. every year at the beginning of april, several guys from the bowling team have a big group birthday party...so, for their party, i surprised them with a DOUBLE batch of my ever so famous cookies!

and i came home with an e.m.p.t.y pan...not even crumbs left! i gave matts bowling friends the gift of my home made cookies! and the 3 hours it took me to make them!
