matt and jenn: #4...our last day.....

we started sunday with a brunch at dennys! now, i know....its dennys... and weve certainly eaten there before (we did while on the NY side just 2 days ago)....but we were in canada. and weve never eaten at DENNYS in CANADA!

the thing that confused me in canada, were their menu prices...they were not in "dollars", they were in canadian "dollars" (or what ever they call their money)....and we didnt really know the exchange rate, so we really had no clue what we were paying for things! too funny! made our trip even more fun! haha!
anyway, after dennys, we walked back down to the falls and explored the canadian side of the falls and their state park.

they had a lot of the same attractions as on the american side, like the maid of the mist and the journey behind the falls (like the cave of the winds) and since we had done all this a few days before on the american side, we just spent the afternoon walking around down by the falls and the niagara powerhouse.

the canadian side was cool, because you were facing the falls...looking straight at them (on the american side, you are even with them, side by side). on the american side, you could get right up to the edge of the bridal falls, on the canadian side, you could get right to the edge of the horseshoe falls....

after spending the afternoon wandering around by the falls, we walked back to our car, and found our hotel for sunday night and checked in. we were staying at the sheraton.

again, no falls view from our room (not really a big deal to us...because with the falls view comes a much bigger price tag for the room!), but in the hallway by the elevators....we could see the falls...i even asked matt if i would be a big goober, if i moved a chair into the hallway to sit and look at the falls....he wouldnt go for the idea...so i settled with just standing there and taking a few pics while waiting for the elevator....

tonight we were celebrating my birthday with dinner where ever i wanted. a few weeks ago, matt kept asking me what i wanted for my birthday, and i was still trying to talk him into this trip...so i kept telling him i just wanted dinner in another country, aka..CANADA!...so thats what i got! how many other husbands take their wives to dinner in another country for their birthday?!?!

we decided to go to the skylon tower for dinner. this tower is a lot like the space needle in seattle....we rode the outside elevator up to the top and had dinner in the fancy dancy revolving restaurant...its one of those restaurants where there are several different workers, with a different job, constantly at your table (one guy to fill your water, another to take your order, another to bring your food, another to bring your bread....and so on)...the views from up here were breath taking! the restaurant makes one revolution about every hour, we were there for 2 revolutions! and the food....WOWZER! was it good!

after dinner, we went above the restaurant, to the outside observation deck....boy was it windy up here! from here, we watched the fireworks that they have on the weekends over the falls....it was pretty spectacular to watch fireworks....and be ABOVE them looking DOWN at them! thats how high we were!

we called it a night, walked back to the hotel...and at midnight, hunky hubby surprised me with birthday cards and a few gifts@ how sweet and thoughtful!
