rewind.....the crib

as i previously posted, my sister and all our florida friends pooled their money together and bought us our crib...it was delivered to the house dec 7!!
the delivery man left it out side next to the door, and it just so happened that matt was working (wouldnt be home until around midnight) and i had to leave for work at 6...i couldnt leave our precious crib sitting outside....you should have seen me DRAGGING this huge heavy box into our house.....but i got it in!

on the morning of december 10 i came home to a fantastic surprise!
hunky hubby had put the crib together while i was at work the night before!!!! he even got the camera out and took pictures of the process! isnt he GRRRREAT!:-)
also, in these pics, you can catch a glimpse of the color of the walls....green. we have two spare bedrooms, one with light pink walls, and this one with green walls...since we are not finding out the sex of our baby....the spare bedroom with the green walls became the babys room! and the other room became a spare bedroom with the computer/desk....aka....stuffed!

heres the crib....all out of the box, ready to be put together....doesnt look like too too many pieces...lol...matt said it took him about 15 minutes to put it together (all by himself, remember)...15 minutes? wow....he IS GOOD!
THE CRIB.....all put together....matt didnt like the bigger bulkier cribs (popular now), he liked the ones that looked more like a traditional crib, so thats what we got. it does not drop down (i didnt want that) and the ends are more sleigh like....to fancy it up a bit....
i just love it...sweet, simple, not over the top...and its a good thing we didnt get a bigger one....we are limited on space in the babys room too!

and of course...a self portrait of hunky hubby with the finished project in the background...

thank you so much matt....what a wonderful surprise to come home to! you are the greatest!
