dynamite daddy's birthday!

so yesterday was finleys dynamite daddys birthday!
she (we) made him a stepping stone for his birthday.....and man was it hard to do!
have you EVER tried to hold a 5 month old, over a mold of wet concrete in your right arm, while trying to OPEN and KEEP open her hand with your left hand?!?!?! lol....we must have been a comical site to see to say the least! her head/face was turning red, from all the blood rushing to her head cause i had her tilted down...she kept grunting...probably due to the fact that i was squeezing her around her middle with my arm to keep her from doing a nose dive into the concrete!...
when i FINALLY got her hand open and was able to put it in the concrete, and i let go...she IMMEDIATELY closed her hand and got a fist FULL of concrete@@@@ aaaahhhh....dont put that in your mouth...so we rush to the hose, while i hold her fist full of concrete hand far away from her mouth...and rinse her off really good. now i realize that the "perfect" hand print i envisioned in my head wasnt going to happen...so i decided to leave the first "hand print" and move onto the foot print...cause that will be much easier, right?
well...kind of!
i put her foot down into the concrete...perfect foot print!...until she CURLS UP HER TOES!
we added colorful glass stones that were from our wedding reception center pieces...
we also added a few pictures of finley and "i love my daddy" (the stepping stone kit came with clear stones and stickers to be able to do this)
the perfect hand and foot print i thought i could pull off didnt happen....but what we ended up with was perfect! and what a great story to go along with the stepping stone!...we will try another one...but not for a few years when miss finley knows how to keep her hand open and her toes straight!

i also made birthday brownies...with an extra bag of chocolate chips and crushed oreos baked IN them...cream cheese frosting and heath pieces on top! low cal all the way!!!!

and just because finely is cute in the picture.

we went to red lobster for matts birthday dinner. he has NEVER been to red lobster! he had the king feast....and LOVED it! i had.....grilled chicken! (i am NOT a fan of sea food!)
then we came home and finley went to bed and matt and i laid on the couch to watch the cardinal game...
and we BOTH fell asleep! haha....boy has times changed!
i think matt had a great birthday....
i love you matt! cant wait to see what is next in this life we are sharing!
