aug 20...7 months old

HAPPY 7 MONTHS FINLEY GRACE!

my sweet baby girl is 7 months old today.....

and growing like crazy....

i think back to the earlier days....and she is so different! its amazing how much babies change in the first 7 months of life!


weve had a lot if "FIRSTs" this past month...

we took finley to her first cardinal baseball game!

we took her to her first birthday party at a water park (she had so much fun splashing all day!)

......

we started feeding her solids when she turned 6 months old!... she is getting much better at it...but you have to pay attention!

she will be looking all around (still very easily distracted!) and then all of the sudden she will lunge at the spoon...

if her mouth is open and you are paying attention, you are successful at giving her a bite!

but sometimes her mouth is closed in a "kissy lips" shape (like she thinks she will suck the food!) and then the spoon of food ends up, well, anywhere! her cheek, her nose, her eye, her forehead! finley definitely is a messy eater! or maybe we should pay better attention!

she likes oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes (her favorite), summer squash, and acorn squash. we have to "trick" her into eating green beans, avocado, and carrots! we have to mix it with something she likes. she makes the funniest faces if you try to give her a spoon of just one of those alone! she will be all dramatic, almost gag, and spit it back at you!
she is still breastfeeding (without the cheater!!!!) and i pump at work!
we tried a sippy cup the other night with some water....she sucked a few times and then cried...i think she was just too tired, and it was time for bed....she wanted her boob, not some dang water-filled sippy cup!

she rolls everywhere! no crawling yet...but who needs to crawl if you can just roll like a log!

she is in size 2 diapers (but not for long)
size 6 month clothes with a few 3-6 months
matt weighed her the other day....and she unofficially weighs 17 lbs!

she still is a drool machine and loves to chew on anything she can get her hands on! including her feet!

she sucks her thumb when she gets tired. if i am holding her, she will wrap my hair up in her hand (like a blankie) and suck her thumb....i love the fact that my hair is her security blanket!

she sleeps great at night...all night! from 9-10pm to 7-8 am....naps are still hit or miss...usually a morning-ish nap, and afternoon nap and an evening nap is what she does....and they last anywhere from 30minutes to 3 hours....ya, i guess we werent so good at putting her on a "schedule!" oh well....ive been told to "pick your battles"....right?!?!?


she is becoming a blondie! and still has her beautiful blue eyes!

she is such a happy baby, smiles, laughs, coos, talks, screeches!........and just started saying...

"mamamamamamamamamamamama"!!!!!!!!!!!!

her first word! she looks so cute when she does it, she rolls her bottom lip into her mouth and then says it!

she still is absolutely in love with her dad! loves to be upside down baby (pay attention when you hold her! she throws herself back to be upside down often!), loves to be thrown up in the air, plays peek-a-boo, loves to be held while you dance, will laugh everytime you come around the corner and say "boo!", and just loves being outside!!!!

she can sit by herself for a few seconds, until she gets all excited and starts kicking and flapping her arms....then she's a goner! and falls!

she gets very excited about the cats too! she thinks they are the coolest!

what a fantastic 7 months! life for us sure has changed! gone are the days of our freedom to just go...now we spend a lot of time at home! our date nights are nights when we have cardinal baseball tickets...but i wouldnt have it any other way! finley is such joy! such happiness! such love!
