nana and papa come for a visit

2 weekends ago my dad and step mom came for a visit!
they live in texas and were driving up to michigan to visit family, so they stopped here over night to rest and play with finley!
while we were waiting for them to get here, we had some fun in the back yard in the swing!

finley just loved her nana and papa!
it was the first time she had met nana...
she played on the floor with papa and sat in nanas lap and had a bawl "talking" to her!

finley liked papas hat....and even tried it on herself!
it may have been a little big!

linda is a VERY crafty person and she is a very talented seamstress....
so while she was here, i had her help me start finelys halloween costume (no pictures until halloween!) and she also helped me with another project ive been wanting to do for several months now....
the bedding for finleys room came with a valence that i wasnt going to use, so i thought it would be a good idea to make pillows out of the valence....but thats where i stopped. i have good ideas...but no skills for my ideas. i can sew on a button, thats about it....
so, linda just happened to have a little sewing machine in their camper...she got it out....and helped me make 2 pillows!!!!
arent they just too cute!??!!? i am sooooo pleased with they turned out!!!!

although they were only here for about 16 hours....

we had a great visit!

we had home made beef vegetable soup for dinner (thank you hunky hubby!) and pancakes and bacon for breakfast (again, thanks hunky hubby)....
they got to play with finley and catch her smiles and joy she spreads...
and i got my pillows made and a great jump on her costume!

come back anytime nana and papa!
