projects!

weve been very busy around here knocking out some projects on our "to do list"!
actually, matt has been working very hard on these projects....ive added "brain" power!

we had old railroad ties (that were half rotted out!) around our landscaping in the front of our house with some very over grown holy and evergreen bushes....
now we have only 2 bushes (2 azaleas that i wouldnt let matt rip out, they are way too pretty in bloom!)...and a very nice decorative cement paver boarder....i may have to get some pics in the daylight...it was dusk tonight when i took these pics

next up...we needed a new liner in our pool...and we couldnt decide if we should get one this year or wait, the pool wasnt leaking....the liner was just starting to wear on the bottom...then matt said to me that he thought we should put a new liner in before we get a deck (ive been wanting a deck for our above ground pool for YEARS!)....so you bet i jumped on the computer and started pricing liners! it was much cheaper to order online than from our local pool store...and WAY WAY cheaper for us matt to install it! the two pool stores i called were charging 400-500$ just to install the dang liner! matt said he could do it himself.....honestly, i had my doubts, but it would save a ton of money! so i said a little prayer....and let matt go for it....and to my pleasant surprise....HE DID DO IT! go matt!!! i wouldnt say it was easy...but matt sure is a handy man to have around! he apparently can do just about anything!
so he drained the pool....took out the old liner....cleaned the sides of the pool.....fixed a hole or two...spray painted the date and our name!....smoothed out the sand floor.....

unfolded the new liner and laid it all out...then started filling the pool...and smoothing all the wrinkles out...we just have about 1/4 of the pool left to fill...and to put the top rail back on! and just in time...its been 95 degree+ all week!

great job hunky hubby!!!! you amaze me and make me so proud with your skills!

while matt was busy working hard on the "big" pool, i decided to get finleys baby pool out of the box! she just LOVES this pool! she kicks, stomps, splashes, sits, lays...giggles, smiles!!! we had a grand old time playing!

i finally got off my duff, did my research, and decided which "big girl" car seat to buy finley. i decided on the graco my ride 65. it has great ratings and has the longest length limit. we have no problem with finley outgrowing her car seat by weight...its the length that she outgrows...so that was a major factor i had to consider. it costs 160$, but i found it on line at babysr us on sale for 140$...then went to the store, and long story short...they didnt have it at the store, so the guy ordered it for me (free shipping to my house) and still let me use my 20% off coupon...so i ended up getting it for 110$!!!! let me tell you that i did cartwheels out of that store that night!
and finley ABSOLUTELY LOVES her new seat! i was adjusting the straps when it came and she sat in it in the living room like it was her lazy boy! and when i made her get out of it....she cried!
it is now very snugly installed in the back seat of our car (and yes, she is still rear facing, she doesnt mind...and its the safest for her, so backwards she is!)

matt also put together finleys picnic table we bought her a while back (while he was cleaning out and straightening up the garage!).....my child thinks she is a mountain goat!

ive been very busy on another project!.....growing this baby! i am in my 29th week! i cant believe in probably less than 10 weeks, this little peanut will be here with us! s/he is constantly flipping and kicking! and hanging out on my right side....its too funny, my belly is lop sided a lot cause the baby likes to stick its tushy up and out on my right!

and miss finley....well, shes just busy being herself.....

oh, and an update to my glucose test.....I PASSED! they want me below 130, i was 128....so barely passed.....BUT PASSED! woooooo!
