quick update.....

we went to the pediatrician today for danikas 1 month well baby check...and finley has been feeling puny, so they squeezed her in too....

GOOD NEWS....danika is up to 8 lbs 11 oz!!!! which is the 30%!!! my babies are never up past the 20-25% in weight!!!! she was born at 6 lbs 12 oz...so in a month she gained 2 lbs!
she is also 21.25 inches! (20 inches when she was born) which is 50%...and her head is 14.25 inches (25%). the pedi told me shes "great!".
we did decide to start her on zantac to see if it helped her. shes not "volcano" puking on me anymore, but she is coughing, fussing, and gagging on feeds/during feeds/after feeds....we think she may have some reflux. theres no harm in trying zantac, no negatives...so why not try it. if it gives me a happier baby, im doing a cartwheel!!!! she just seams so fussy...and at times in pain (pulling up her legs...screaming)...so keep your fingers crossed it helps my little tiny to feel better...
BAD NEWS.....miss finley has mono and "a raging ear infection". this all kind of started last saturday...she puked saturday night...for no reason. she was acting fine....just puked. i thought it was a fluke. or her nose was running, maybe the snot down her throat made her nauseated? anyway...her nose kept running like niagara falls....no fever, just snot! so i was thinking teeth? allergies? the weather change? (it was in the 100's for several days, now its in the 70's)....we kept giving her tylenol....this went on sunday...monday....tuesday.....still no other signs but the runny nose and she wasnt eating the best...but thats just her! one day she eats great, the next she eats like a bird. then came tuesday night....and she was horrible....just really clingy and crying....snotty nose, no fever....just acting like she didnt feel well. wednesday was the same....she just wasnt acting herself....still no fever....thursday came....and since she didnt have a fever, no puking, no diarrhea.....we sent her to school....
the school ended up calling us about an hour before we were supposed to pick her up...and told us she had a fever of 100 and asked us to come get her...
and that was the start of our 24 hours of hell.....
in a nutshell.....she wouldnt eat, was terribly winey, snotty, just not her happy self. she was up all night tossing and turning and crying....
at one point, danika had spit up all over me so i was in the bedroom cleaning us up and matt yells for some help...i go out to the kitchen, and finley had puked all over him! so all 4 of us were covered in puke! at 11pm we were doing baths and laundry!
when we got to the pediatrician today....she took one look at finley and said " oh, you dont feel good do you?"....her temp now was 101.5! her glands are way swollen, her throat is all white (no white patches so not strep) and she is just letting drool run out of her mouth= sore throat. dr w took a look at her ears and exclaimed that she has a "raging ear infection".....
basically finley is miserable!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish these antibiotics would kick in!!!!!
i hate seeing my baby like this.....
wish us luck this weekend...
