matt and jenn: 2 months old.....WHAT?

this past friday little miss danika turned 2 months old....

has it really already been 2 months???? that this little sweet bundle came into our lives????
she is such a sweet baby....but is giving me a ride for my money....

weve been dealing with some mild reflux issues....she used to volcano hurl about once or twice a week...but she was also gagging, choking, screaming, arching her back, red faced fighting me during most feeds (no fun! and it really made me question this whole breastfeeding thing...) so we tried her on zantac, and i really didnt notice any difference....so last week we switched her to prevacid....and it seems to be helping! she hasnt volcano puked in some time, just a wet burp here and there....but the gagging, choking, screaming, arching back red faced fighting during feeds has stopped! yeah for happily feeding babies!!!! i am not a "medicine" person, i take my PNV and thats it....so i dont like having to give her medicine twice a day, but it makes her so much happier and not acting like she is in pain....so, BRING ON THE MEDS! dr. w said we can start to wean her off when shes around 4 months old....keep your fingers crossed!

also little missy loves me! like i literally cant put her down....if i do, she cries....i know, i may have helped make THIS monster....now dont get me wrong, sitting around all day holding a sweet tiny is GREAT, if you dont have a 20 month old that also wants her mama....and a house that is in desperate need of some cleaning....and a husband that im sure feels forgotten about!

this week, i started operation baby-sleep-in-pack-n-play (PNP)....

for the past month, me and danika have been sleeping in the spare bedroom. its just easier to feed at night that way and i dont have to worry about waking hubby or finley up. i lay on my side, feed her, we both fall asleep...then she wakes up a few hour later to eat, so i flip to the other side, she eats, we both fall asleep, and repeat!....this helps me get sleep! but she sleeps right up next to me and wont sleep anywhere else....i know....i created that monster too! so now im trying to fix it!...

the first night she slept for 2 hours in the PNP and i thought this was going to be easy...HA! the rest of the week she only slept for at most a hour......but most nights she only lasted about 10 minutes. i swear she would be sound to sleep next to me, id gently pick her up and softly lay her in the PNP...and sure as s**T, 5-10 minutes later she would be awake and crying, i would try to calm her down (for up to an hour!) and it wouldnt work...so back to bed with me she came...and we both would sleep GREAT for the rest of the night! but friday night....she slept for THREE hours in there~! i was so proud of myself! i hope it wasnt a fluke!!!! keep your fingers crossed for this too!
she still loves her binki and hates to have her arms swaddled, so i just swaddle her from her arm pits down and leave her arms out.

10 lbs 9 oz (50%)
22.75 inches long(50%)
15 inches head (30%)
shes is in size 1 diapers....and wears size 0-3 and 3 month clothes...

she is still strictly breastfed! she eats every 2-3 hours during the day and every 3-4 hours at night...

the most she has slept at a time during the night is a 4 hour stretch...

the past week, she has become more alert....after she eats she is awake for up to an hour...and she loves laying on my lap and looking at me!(or anyone that will hold her and talk to her!) i will talk to her and she has started smiling a lot!

she gets all excited and starts to kick her legs and wave her arms....coo....and smile that huge smile of hers! shes got the cutest chubby cheeks with a little dimple on the right side...and i just love her pointed nose (it reminds me of a little ski slope)

finley is still totally in love with her "baby"! she always asks about her...and loves on her, gives her kisses and hugs...."shares" her water or milk with her! pats her back to burp her....rubs her head, gives her binki to her if she cries....says "shhhhhhhh" and puts her finger to her lips if she is sleeping.....wants to hold her, tries to pick her up....rocks her in her swing....."helps" me change her diaper ("baby POOP!")....tries to carry her in her car seat! (thats a funny site to see!)...i could keep going on and on but im sure you get the picture!
