has it really been 5 whole months since danika was born?
i remember it like it was yesterday...
i actually had to count on my fingers from august because i didnt believe she was really F.I.V.E months old!

this is my most favorite picture from our photo shoot today! these two girls really love each other! danika is always watching finley....and laughing....and finley is always wanting to help with the "baby"....or kiss her...or "ugg"(hug) her....or "seat seat" (hold her)....
danika has the biggest blue eyes...is a drooling fool right now...always chewing on her fingers or anything she can get her hands on and into her mouth, her hand-eye coordination is getting pretty good!...and really DOES have hair! she has a dimple on her right cheek....dimples for knuckles on her hands....SEVERAL rolls on her thighs...a Buddha belly!...fat feet.....fat wrists! and i love kissing every piece of her!
she loves her mamma the best...and watches me like a hawk...if i leave her sight, even for a second, her bottom lip goes out, she gets all upset, and will not hesitate to cry if i dont re-appear VERY SOON! this is both good and bad! it makes me feel oh so loved! (and who doesnt like that!?!?)...but i cant even set her down for 2 minutes so i can go do some business in the bathroom by myself!
her room is still a work in progress...slowly but surely i am transforming it into "danika's room" rather than the spare room with a changing table and a crib! but i figure ive still got plenty of time, finley didnt sleep in her room until she was 13 months old! i hung these butterflies up today...
she is in size 2 diapers...
and mostly size 3-6 month clothes, although there are a few 3 month sleepers that are just too cute for me to pack up yet!
danika is starting to be able to sit up propped up pretty well! she does still eventually tilt/lean...and will do a nose dive if you dont straighten her back up....
she can roll from front to back if she HAS to....but doesnt get to practice this much, because that requires her to be out of my arms and on the floor....and missy doesnt like being out of her mammas arms!
i could watch these two interact all day, every day...it never gets old....and makes me smile!
danika is still strictly breastfed and still eats about every 2-4 hours during the day...one side at a time for about 6-8 minutes at a time...
we didnt start finley on "food" until she was 6 months old...so thats what we are going to do with danika as well.
she is completely off her reflux meds...at her 4 month well baby visit, we had decided to down her dose to once a day (instead of twice) until she was 6 months old, and take her off completely at that time...2 weeks into the once-a-day plan, i ran into a problem when i went to refill her prescription: her med (a generic brand dissolving tablet) is on back order, and they have no clue when it will be available again...so, we then decided to go to plan B...take her off her meds now and see how she does. i was nervous, i remember oh TOO WELL those volcano pukes!...but i am happy to say that she has done so well! no volcano pukes, no screaming like she is in pain...she IS more spitty and has more wet burps, but thats nothing we cant handle! we just have burp cloths EVERYWHERE!
danika has started sleeping all the way through the night!!!!! on christmas night, she didnt wake for her 0500 feed and slept until 0740! she was 20 weeks old! she usually cluster feeds throughout the evening...then at around 830-930 she goes to sleep for good...and wakes to feed around 0730-0800! she is awake for 2 hours and then ready for a nap...her nap is anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on whats going on around her. she isnt the best sleeper. then she wakes and eats...and is ready for a nap about 2-3 hours later again...all day...
i am still working on her sleeping in the pack and play rather that next to me at night and she is doing really well at this too...most of the time when she ends up sleeping with me it is my fault...i am tired and just fall asleep with her, and thats where she stays! (secretly, between you and me, i like her there next to me, keeping me warm, and snuggling!)
she has found her voice! and likes hearing it! she squeals all the time! it is so dang cute...its this VERY high pitched, LOUd squeal that even makes her blink her eyes when she does it! she is so much fun and such a happy baby! she is super ticklish! and has an infectious giggle!
and just because it fun...here are my two girls...both at 5 months old...finley is in the white headband with pink bow...

Those two girls look so much alike in that last picture that if you wouldnt have told me Finley was in the White headband I would have thought it was Danika. But yes I agree with Barbi she is getting so big!
