finleys birthday party!

we had finleys birthday party this past friday night! after it having to be rescheduled a few times, friday night was the special night!
i worked wed and thurs night....so that left HUNKY HUBBY TO MAKE THE ELMO CAKE!
and boy did he do a FANTASTIC JOB! he baked the chocolate cake (from a box...which was what i was going to do)...
but then he sliced it in half and put a layer of chocolate pudding in the middle of it! and he made, FROM SCRATCH, the butter cream icing (neither one i was going to do i might add!). needless to say...i was UBBER IMPRESSED! and he even CLEANED UP THE KITCHEN after he was done destroying it!!!! all while i slept friday afternoon! can i get a W.H.A.T. W.H.A.T.!!!!!
heres a picture of the super elmo cake!, finleys super cute party hat i bought of etsy (that she refused to wear!), and the famous "toth birthday cake" matts mom made (this is a fantastic, from scratch, layered chocolate and cherry cake! matts mom has made it for each "kid" for their birthday since matt was little)

we sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to finley and she got all bashful....it was pretty cute....she wouldnt wear her hat, so grandma did...and grandma helped her blow out her candle

finleys party ended up being low key and just family. since it had to be rescheduled, the friends we had invited couldnt come. but it was perfect! we had a great family dinner (pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, broccoli salad, and cheesy broccoli) with grandma and grandpa, and aunts, uncles, and cousins... and 2 chocolate cakes! i mean, how lucky is finley to get TWO cakes!
