friday was finleys birthday! sesame street live was in town, so we decided to go! it was the first time we had done anything "kid" like...and boy did we all have fun!
an hour before the show started they had a play zone set up.....they had elmos world, big birds nest, and several other "places" on sesame street set up for the kids to play with. and several characters would come out and sing and dance every 15 minutes or so...
finley, of course, stayed in elmos world the entire time! she was playing on the piano and kept pushing the button to make elmo talk! she was so excited when we walked in and she saw all this fun!
when the characters came out, she got a little timid at first, then daddy put her up on his shoulders, and she was much better! all smiles and laughing and clapping!
some kind man took a picture of the 4 of us in big birds nest! arent we the cute little family celebrating a special girls 2nd birthday!
then the show was about to start, so we made it to our seats! we sat in the 2nd row, stage right, but the first row only had 3 seats in it, and they werent in front of us, so we actually were in the FIRST row! good job daddy on scoring us AWESOME SEATS! we were all smiles waiting for the show to start!
when the show started, both (yes, danika too!) girls were glued to the stage! danika was so funny, she sat there, wide eyed, and with her mouth open for the majority of the show! finley ended up sitting in the first row...
a funny happened...she was watching the show and Grundgetta the Grouch came off the stage (to our right)...finley didnt see her come down because she was too busy watching the stage...she came up to finley and tapped her on her shoulder, you should have seen finleys face when she turned and saw that "monster"! her jaw dropped open! it was so cute! i think she was surprised, scared, and in awe all at once!
the show was great! lots of music, colors, and it kept the little ones glued to the stage!
but i think finley loved her (10$) elmo balloon the best!!!! and danika tried her best, but after she ate at intermission...she lost the battle....and fell asleep during the second half of the show
after the show, we came home, and us 3 girls took a long nap while daddy did some running around....then we had pizza for dinner and opened presents! of course, we probably went over board...but oh well. i buy lots of stuff on clearance and when they are on sale...and besides, a sweet girl only turns 2 once!
i think 2 of her favorite gifts from us were her baby doll stroller, which she pushed her baby in for a minute, then she decided to sit in it!...and her NEW TRICYCLE! it has a handle attached to it so we can push her....daddy is really excited about this too! he cant wait for the weather to get nicer so they can go around the neighborhood!
after she opened her presents, we sang to her and as you can tell by the first picture, she didnt like our singing! oh well finley, get used to it! because we will sing to you every birthday!!!! danika liked our singing! she just sat there and smiled! we had cupcakes....and finley didnt want any part of her cupcake...this child is SO NOT HER DADDYS! because, look who ended up eating her cupcake!!!!!......D.A.D.D.Y!!!!!
and at 11:36pm, jan 20, 2012....her exact birth minute...finley was curled up in a little ball, sound asleep!

it was such a good day!
then it got ugly....last weekend i was sick with the puke/poop bug for about 4 days...i HOPED (thought) the girls were in the clear....then thursday, finley came home and puked 4 times that evening. we were hesitant about sesame street live, but friday morning she acted fine...and all day, just didnt eat much...but friday night into saturday morning, the poop/puke gods came back to me and i was feeling crappy again. we had to reschedule our picture appointment we had for saturday morning...and had to reschedule finleys birthday party we were supposed to have today (sunday). i am so bummed about that...i was really looking forward to her party, but since i spent all day saturday in bed praying to stop upchucking, i didnt have time to icing her elmo cake, and i couldnt put myself, sick, around people that were coming to her party. so we rescheduled it to next week. and its a good thing, although i feel totally fine today...and finley seemed "ok"...until about 6pm tonight when she turned to me and puked all over me! but dont worry, i caught most of it with my hands!!!;-)
i am a true mother!
so, i am very thankful we had such a great day friday, on finleys birthday, at sesame street live! and i pray that we all get feeling better SOON! weve still got birthday stuff to do!!!!
