matt and jenn: 7 months old on the 7th

gosh time flies when you are having fun....or when you have babies!
i cant believe that miss danika is already 7 months old. that just is crazy!
just look at that beautiful, joyful, blue eyed, bald (ish) baby i get to call MINE!...well, ours! lol...

danika had her first "sickness", an ear infection on feb 8, im sure thanks to her sister and the "bugs" she brings home from school! she was on antibiotics for 10 days and at her follow up her ear looked GREAT! yipee! (now if we could only get finley well....she still has that stinking wet productive cough)...
on feb 24, danika weighed 15 lbs 1 oz (was fully clothed though).
she is still in size 2 diapers and is in 6 month and 6-9 month clothes/sleepers.

she can now SIT UP BY HERSELF! she did this first on feb 24th...she cant sit there all day...but she does sit there for a bit and can play before she teeters over! (see the above pictures of her sitting up!)

danika still breastfeeds every 2-4 hours throughout the day for about 6-8 minutes at a time, off one side. we started giving her solids feb 6, so far she has had baby oatmeal with bananas, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, bananas, strawberries, and pears. she has seemed to be ok with everything, but her least favorite has been the spaghetti squash, and of course, i have the most of that!....she is getting better at eating. she still does the funny slurp thing with her tongue about 1/3 of the time but is opening her mouth for the spoon more often. and there has been a few times where i cant shovel it in quick enough! i am making her food (so far) like i did with finley. its really super easy! i just steam the food, then throw it in the blender and puree it up, then pour it in ice cube trays to freeze it...once frozen, i store each food in a zip lock bag with the date i made it and what it is. then when its time to eat, we just throw a "cube" or 2 in the microwave to thaw it....and presto! its done!

danika is still a total mamas girl! she hates to be left alone in a room....i cant even walk out of the living room without her yelling...so she goes EVERYWHERE with me (yes, everywhere). she wants to be held all the time...i used to fight this, i would try to put her down to clean or do something, but then i thought about it, shes not going to be little forever, and at some point she will turn into a teen that will balk at hugs....so ive decided to embrace this time, and hold her! and just take her with me....and snuggle her.....and LIKE IT! she also has started laying her head down on you while you are holding her....like she is cuddling you! it makes me all happy inside when she does this!

danika has started noticing the cats and watches them as they walk (out of arms reach) by! she also has started "watching" the tv and if you get between her and the tv, she tries to look around you as if to say "hey, you make a better door than window mama!".

arent her little hands and feet so sweet!?!?!?!?!?!? and that smile!??!?! she smiles with her entire face!

had to throw in a little finley! we were having fun outside on the deck the other day while danika napped...and, just a little tid bit...this CUTE face had her first kiss on feb 28, a little boy at school (porter) kissed her! and her teacher said she put her hands up on her cheeks, smiled huge, giggled, and jumped up and down!....i think we are in trouble!

danika is such a happy baby! she is still totally in love with her sister.....and her binki!
i was brave this month and took both girls with me to walmart.....me, a 2 year old and a 6 month old...and 80$ worth of groceries! we all lived! and we didnt clear out walmart with any screaming kids! (thank goodness, i think i would have died if that would have happened...it would have been our FIRST, AND LAST trip to walmart!)

danika is getting more hair!!!! it actually can stick out on the sides now!!!!!

just her ears, profile, nose, eyes, eye lashes, lips.....just little details that make her irresistible!

she still sleeps about the same. she will go to sleep around 9ish....and wakes around 5ish for a feed, then falls back to sleep until about 7-8 ish....she is getting better about sleeping in her seat in the pack-n-play, shes usually there until the 5am feed, then she come to bed with me and sleeps with me for the rest of the morning. naps are still a thing we need to figure out. she takes a few naps a day that range from 30 minutes to a couple hours depending on whats going on....she is usually ready for her first nap at about 10 ish...
she sleeps with her arm up over her head....just like i do!
