matt and jenn: 38 weeks...watch my baby grow as she sleeps...and a few other fun things!

this past sunday, my baby was 38 weeks old....she was born at 38 weeks.... so she has officially been out, as long as she was safely "in"! happy 38 week birthday sweet baby danika!

ok, ok....last month everyone was standing their brooms up and posting pictures on face book, so i had to try it one night....and it worked! although, finley got mad (see the first picture) cause i told her she couldnt touch the broom and she wanted to "sweep mama!"...i took my pictures of the stand alone broom, then happily let finley "sweep" which made her night!

here, we were still sleeping danika in the living room in her bouncy seat....until she started doing this....rolling and flipping and almost ending up out of the seat and onto the floor....finley is just a crazy mess when she sleeps!

so we moved her to the bottom of the pack and play that is at the end of our bed...and thats where she slept, soundly, for 5 days...until aunt laura came and watched the kids for us one night...and wasnt sure where to put danika to bed. she saw the pack and play in our room, but wasnt sure she could get her down and into the bottom of it without waking her....so she put her....

IN HER CRIB!
this was the first time she had ever been in her own crib! in her room. i hadnt planned on putting her over there until she was at least a year old (we moved finley to her crib at 13 months)...but she has slept so much better over there! and usually sleeps through the night! so i guess she was ready to be in her own crib in her own room....even if i was not ready for her to be over there!

this is my finley, making a pretzel out of herself! she will fold herself in half when you change her diaper....make it easy to get all the poop out of the nooks and crannies!

miss finley is so smart...
she has become an escape artist and figured out how to unlock and open the back sliding screen door...this is what i witnessed one day. her opening the door and walking out into the yard...and turning to me when i called her name...and laughing!
so now we have (to be one step ahead of the 2 year old!) an eye hook lock thingy at eye level of me and matt...so she will have to grow LOTS before she will be able to reach that! HA! take that kid!
she also has figured out how to escape our gate on our chain link fence. its nothing fancy, just the regular old little arm thingy that lifts up...well, now she knows how to lift it up and let her little self out of the back yard. so we bought 2 spring-lock carabineer hooks and put them through the little hole in the arm thingy...and presto! shes locked back in! (until she figures out that hook thingy...!)
