rewind....pregnant in september....

in september we celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary....and took a trip to niagra falls during the last of august over my birthday weekend. BEAUTIFUL! i highly suggest a trip to the falls!

on my birthday....monday, aug 31, i was laying in the hotel room early one morning, it was about 730AM and i had just woke up, went pee, and was trying to go back to sleep...and i felt what i describe as "bubbles"...3 quick "bubbles", like gas...like a tootie is about to come out....but it never came. i really didnt think anything of it, just thought i maybe was hungry and it was my stomach grumbling....a few days later in the week, when we were home and i was catching up on emails...i was reading about what the baby was doing this week (i get weekly emails that tell my about what the baby is doing, what my body is doing, and so on) and this email mentioned that i may start feeling kicks...and then it dawned on me...the "bubbles" i felt on my birthday morning were the FIRST KICKS FROM THE BABY! how exciting! what a great birthday gift!

so now, i am trying to pay more attention to these sweet gentle kicks....and i am feeling them, at least i THINK that i am feeling them!:-)

18 weeks 4 days....sept 8 was the first time that someone noticed that i was pregnant....our waitress at show-mes (we go there often) looked at me and exclaimed "are you pregnant??"

why, yes i am!

19 weeks i had another dr. appointment. and the BIG ultrasound....but we are not finding out the sex of the baby. well, I DONT WANT TO FIND OUT, matt does. but i think it will be so cool to have it be a surprise...so thats the way it goes....we will not be finding out the sex. the ultrasound went great...we saw the heart, 4 chambers, vessels into the heart, fingers, profile, kidneys, stomach, diaphragm, brain and chambers, and all the measurements...the baby is weighing 11 oz! the heart rate is 150-152. everything is great!

after our dr. appointment, we took our bikes and biked around forrest park, a large park in st. louis. it was fun to just get out and enjoy the weather.

our 3 year anniversary was sept. 16. we celebrated matt and jenn style, spending the day at the cardinals baseball game, going to my favorite bar afterwards, then out to dinner. it was a great day! also, this evening, i was resting my arm on my stomach, and i felt the baby kick my arm! and SAW my arm move!!!! yes, that was a kick! no question!

friday sept 18...20 weeks! half way there. i cant believe it! already half way....oh my gosh time is flying!

in september we took a trip to arkansas and florida to visit family...

and now...pictures!!!!

here i am, sept 16, our 3 year anniversary...19 weeks 5 days....

and half way there....sept 19, 20 weeks 1 day....

hey jenn! looking great by the way. about maternity clothes... to be honest, i hardly wear them. the shirt i'm wearing in my 36 week picture is from shade, www.shadeclothing.com. i had it since way before i was pregnant and now i just stretch it over to make it work. HA! i wear cardigans all the time with shade shirts... i just can't find any maternity clothes that are within my price range that make me feel cute and normal. so i make my old things work somehow, some way. good luck though! you're doing great!
