3 weeks old today!
i cant believe it...my little sweet pea is 3 weeks old....
and i am glad to report...
breastfeeding is going better....i feed her every 2 1/2-3 hours during the day...trying to catch her before she is too hungry, angry, and just screams at breast. and this seems to be working...we havent had a fit at breast since i started trying to feed her more often, last week sometime! yipee! except today....i let her sleep 3 1/2 hours....too long, she woke mad! whoops! my bad! im still learning!
nights are SLOWLY getting better....with the feed around midnight, i breastfeed her, then give her a supplement (either formula or pumped breast milk, what ever i have handy)...to get her to sleep a little longer...and this seems to work as well...she will usually sleep 3ish hours then! a much welcomed treat for me! because nights are R.O.U.G.H! when your baby wont sleep more that 30minutes to an hour at a time....that gets old...QUICK! T.R.U.S.T.M.E.
we went to the orthopedic pediatrician today...when finley was born, she held her left foot/leg hooked in, all tucked up close to her body...like a club foot. so i was worried (being a nurse and knowing stuff sometimes is a curse!), my mom was born with bilat. club feet, and had to wear casts and have surgery. i wasnt sure if she truly had a club foot, or if it was just positional...from being all squished up inside of me.
our pediatrician wasnt sure either at first, but over the last 3 weeks, she was more convinced that it was not a club foot, just positional, and matt agreed with her. i did too, to a point, but i really wanted to hear it from the specialist as well....id rather be safe than sorry!
so our wonderful pediatrician suggested we go to the ortho ped, to get her foot checked out, and to put my mind at ease (thank you dr. w!)...
today was our appointment....and her foot is fine! yipee! (not like a club foot would be horrible, its just nice to be reassured that your baby is "perfect"!)...
no club foot for this girl! the ortho ped said its completely positional, from being squished up inside me!, and she will have no problems with her foot/ankle/leg....sMiLe!
this is how hunky hubby spends a couple hours each afternoon....napping with his daughter! in matching knit hats......
arent they cute?!!?

I guess you are going to have to get a knit hat to match. Maybe get everyone one with a T on it.. Ha!
glad to hear appointment went well and glad to hear bf/nights doing better.. Baby steps

What great news you got from the ortho doc! You must be so relieved. Like you said, it would have been fine either way but you just want her perfect...and she totally is!

Im so glad that the appt went well...she is sooo perfect...and hunky hubby is pretty cute too with his matching hat:)
I was just saying this morning to my friend how I dont know if its better to be well informed and worried or nieve and SHOCKED...i think both have pros and cons
