oh my did we have a busy, fun filled weekend!
saturday, we got up early and headed to downtown st. louis to participate in the race for the cure!
there were over 71,000 people! and it was a hot and humid 95 degrees....but it was so amazing to be a part of such a great event! we made it a family event...me, matt, and finley walked the 5k...we had to stop for a lunch (aka: bottle) break for miss finley, but we made it through to the finish line and didnt even cheat and cut out early!
heres some pictures from the race...it was cool, when you were atop a hill, all you could see were a mass of people in front of you and behind you...these pictures just dont do it justice.
the picture on the bottom row, with the american flag and the arch in the background, is of the finish line.....whew! the 3 of us made it!!!!
heres our little family during the race.
the bottom middle of finley in her stroller was right before we got to the race festivities....doesnt she look excited!!!!
she had her pink hat on....and it was so sunny, she had to wear her pink shades too!
all 3 of us ended up hot sweaty slippery messes! but it was soooo worth it, we will be back next year! (right hubby?????)
after the race, we all came home and took naps. the heat and getting up early really wiped us out!
then, saturday night we went to a wedding reception of a co-worker of mine...
it was very casual, held at a park pavilion....it had stormed that afternoon, so it cooled off a lot, it ended up being a very nice night spent eating some YUMMO food, listening to some good tunes, and chatting with several co-workers/friends and their hubbies!
finley did GREAT! she was the star (right under the bride of course!)....and got passed around all night. she was her usual happy, smiley, giddy self, which made me happy....and proud of my sweet girl!
she took a power nap at about 830 (i thought she was out for the night....Nope)...and would.not.go.back.to.sleep until 11PM! hey, a girl doesnt want to miss a good party!

both those girls are also co-workers of mine...and GREAT nurses!

I dont know how you ever made the whole race in that heat!!I simply love that pic of jenny and finley in her little pink hat and sun glasses.It is the cutest.The reception sounds like it was a lot of fun too.You guys sure are busy!Mom
thanks for racing for me! Love my shirts every year, donny had asked me if I owned any other t-shirt is that's all he ever see's me in (my cure shirts). Some have earned the right to be work shirts though.
loven these naps incorporated everywhere.. Or maybe I'm jealous!
