my birthday!

yesterday was my birthday...and i cant help but remember last year on my birthday...

we were in canada, visiting niagara falls...i had woken up early in the morning (to probably go pee) and i was laying in bed trying to fall back to sleep...(i was almost 17 weeks preggo)....and all of the sudden i felt IT!

3 little "flutters"....or so i thought....maybe? maybe not?...
i laid there for a few minutes, very still, seeing if it would happen again...it didnt...and i fell back to sleep....
a few days later, i felt the "flutters" again...and this time i was for sure it was my baby inside of me moving around!

then i remembered my birthday morning "flutters!"....what a great gift! to feel my baby for the first time on my birthday!

fast forward to this year! i have a 7+month old beautiful baby girl!

my birthday was great!
it started by me getting woken up by a VeRy HaPpY baby girl!

all i wanted was for us to have a picnic in forest park and to go to the zoo....

and thats what we did!

the weather was great!

finley was her usual squirmy wormy self! trying to grab EVERYTHING!

here, she was trying to reach the grapes!!!!!

then her and daddy played upside down baby!

hanging with my 2 fave peeps, having a picnic in forest park! what more could a birthday girl ask for??

while matt snoozed....finley was perfectly content banging on the tupperware, or the gatorade bottle....or chewing on either one of them!

and i was perfectly content watching her!

we attempted several times to get a picture of me and finley....and this is the 1 and only one that we were successful in getting her to look at the camera! there was just way too much going on! and way too many leaves to look at!

these pics were right before we changed her diaper...and while she had her diaper off....little missy went pee pee and it got all over her outfit! so, time for a quick outfit change....then off to the zoo we went!

we went into the penguin house....it was FREEZING in there! finley just stared in awe at everything! she was so cute! in the bottom picture, we are in front of the puffins...they kept diving into the water and splashing us! she thought it was great fun....i tried not to think about all the yuck in the water!

we walked all around the zoo and saw a ton of animals@

we found a photo op.....and were being silly!

you cant go to the st. louis zoo and not get a picture with the massive gorilla statue! finley wasnt too sure about him though...

she also got to sit on matts shoulders for a bit....

and love the fact that she could grab his hair too! just like she grabs mine all the time!

it was closing time....so we had to call it a day...

we finished out the day by having dinner over at matts parents house with all the family!

we had sloppy joes, salad, green beans, watermelon, honeydew...

and mini danishes or chocolate muffins for dessert!

i had a spectacular birthday....

just being outside, spending time with MY family, enjoying the fresh air, and hanging with hunky hubby and fantastic finley!

bring on another year of life!!!

i cant wait!
