finley turned 1 on jan. 20...we had her party on that following sunday, jan. 23. we ended up keeping it sweet and smaller. we invited family over, made a big pot of chili, and had presents, cake, ice cream (and some playoff football was on in the back ground to occupy the men!). there were about 12 people here, just the right sized group!
my good friend made her invites for me! i am so pleased with the way they turned out! i found them on a web site for about 2$ an invite....my friend (jenn) made them for me. then i uploaded them and had 15 printed out....all for about 2$ total!!!! woooo, i am all about saving some money!
i made the cake and finleys smash cake....they werent beautiful by all means, but they were made with love, by me! (im really into making your party/wedding/celebration you own and adding all sorts of personalized touches). they were funfetti cakes, frosted with white (her smash cake was frosted with pink) funfetti supreme frosting....topped, of course, with lots of sprinkles and i attempted to decorate the main cake (that was in a shape of a "1") with her name in pink and green frosting (those colors apparently were the colors of the party! (her invites, the frosting, the floweres..).....not too bad for my first attempt!??!
then i put up a few decorations around the house...
bought some pretty pink and green and yellow daisies....
ordered her birthday party hat of etsy (i LOVE it!)....
my step mom made her birthday bib....
finley had SO MUCH FUN crawling after her cousin max (he turned 3 two weeks after her birthday)...she just thinks he is so cool! they both were laughing and playing the entire time!
she also loved her birthday outfit (ok, so maybe that is me that thought she looked OH-SO-CUTE!....)and let me just put it out there, balloons are the best babysitter EVER! finley and max loved those 3 balloons i had bought!
we had some yummy cake!
with a (almost) catastrophe...see that flame on finleys candle? yeah, so did she....and she wanted to touch it! thank goodness for daddys cat like reflexes to blow it out right at the split second her little fingers were touching it! (uggg....)
and again....finley didnt really eat any cake, just played with it...and smushed it....and had so much fun doing that!
then we opened her presents.....
she got a princess tent that her and max had a ball crawling in and out of!
what a great party for such a sweet birthday girl! thank you to everyone who came over and spent the evening with us to celebrate finley!

Well,HAPPY BIRTHDAY FINLEY!! It sure looks like she had a fun birthday! I loved your cakes. I think you did a great job on them and the whole party. The party pictures are so cute!
