10 months old!

danika....is 10 months old!
i cant believe it! she is getting older and growing up at lightening speed!
this photo shoot was pretty difficult to do. she didnt want to sit still! she didnt want to smile! she got mad! she kept crawling towards me....
so....you will see lots of "action" shots and fussy shots, but hey, thats the way she is right now!

sleep....she sleeps in her crib at night, all night...from about 730-830pm-700ish am...but, if she doesnt feel well (she just had a double ear infection) or is teething, she will wake once or twice through out the night. she still fights falling asleep and naps are still a struggle. she takes 2 naps a day, one in the morning around 10am for about 30 minutes to an hour, and an afternoon nap around 2pm that usually lasts a few hours. she then sometimes takes a short evening nap around 6pm. getting her to sleep AND STAY asleep has always been a struggle. ....unless she can sleep in your arms the entire time, then shes as happy as a lark!

 

i am still breastfeeding her, going strong, and patting myself on the back! shes never had any formula...which i am pretty proud of! breastfeeding hasnt always been a walk in the park and is a huge commitment, so i am proud we have made it 10+months! she eats about every 2-3 hours still when i am home with her, but only for about 6 minutes on one side. she is really into the environment around us now though, so keeping her focused on feeding is a challenge...i usually just take her into the bedroom to feed her, instead of fight with the tv (or anything else for that matter) for her attention. i still make her "food" and her pediatrician
 gave us the green light to give her "anything we would give finley" and boy oh boy does danika LOVE "people" food@ she gets so excited and bounces up and down in her high chair and grunts! some food she loves right now are hot dogs, puffs, cheerios, yogurt, strawberries, macaroni and cheese, grapes, chicken, cantaloupe, honeydew, cheezits....and the list goes on and on! she loves picking up the pieces of food herself and feeding herself! she also loves snagging finleys sippy cup and "drinking" out of it. im sure if i would let her, she would skip all the "purred baby food" i make her and jump right into big people food!

 

she wears size 3 diapers
and is in 6-9 month and 9 month cloths!
on may 25th at her 9 month well baby visit, she weighed 16 lbs 6 oz and was 28 inches long. her head was 17 3/4 inches
she also had a double ear infection....and was teething (and finley had a double ear infection as well, boy was our house fun!)..so danika was super snotty, cranky, and clingy! she was waking up throughout the night, and would gag/choke on her snot (i know, nice visual right?!)....and twice she gag on her snot so much that she started coughing and cough so hard she ended up puking! FUN!

finley is a great big sister, if danika is ever crying, she comes up to her and says "baby you ok?", then gives her a big hug and pats her on the back! or she asks me "mama, what happened?"...over and over and over!

 

danika is super ticklish! EVERYWHERE!
she is now crawling like a champ!
june 3 she started pulling up to her feet and will stand there (holding onto the couch) and smile because she is so proud of herself!

 

she is still a mamas girl! and will crawl after me crying if i put her down to do something. its pretty pathetic! but at the same time super sweet that she loves me this much! i will have to remember these days when she is a teenager!
she has given some of those AWESOME open mouth kisses and hugs!
she screeches! and babbles "dadadada" all the time!

 

she dances....bobs up and down! actually, they both start dancing when matt calls my cell phone, they must love the "paradise island" ringtone ive got assigned to him! ive even been known to break out in a few dance moves myself!

 

i decided to move the photo shoot outside, and she was much happier! thank you to fresh air and green grass for salvaging this 10 month shoot!'

 

june 3rd she got her 3rd tooth! top middle right side.
and she went from a stationary baby...to a crawling baby!....the timeline went like this...
may 10, she started rocking on all fours
may 19th she started crawling! in florida! so my mom and sister got to see her start crawling!
may 30 she started pulling up to her knees...
and on june 3 she is now pulling up to her feet/standing!

 

she loves being in the kiddy pool!
we spent 2 weeks in florida and had so much fun! we swam, went to the park, went to the beach, and had some great family time with my sister (and her family) and my mom!
we took the girls to the circus for the first time on june 3rd! they both were very excited!
weve also been to a few BBQ at friends and families homes! they girls are always so good and in such good moods when we are out and about!
matt got a m-f 9-5 job, so the girls also had to start going to an in home day care and are watched by our neighbor (that has 2 kids) a few times a week ...im not really happy about them having to go to day care, but with matt working a day job now, we really didnt have a choice.

and i just want to take a minute to remember
 my good friend susan.
she passed away in her sleep this past tuesday night. she was 44. she used to love to read my blog and would often leave me comments, or text me her comments!
susan had a bubbly personality and loved the sun and laying out at her apartment pool.
susan, my little friend, enjoy your forever sunny seat at the beach!
